About Us
Who We Are
40 Plus of Central Ohio is a nonprofit 501 (c) 3
tax exempt, member operated, job search training organization for
experienced professionals of all ages who are actively seeking better
career opportunities. 40 Plus offers training classes, weekly
speakers, networking opportunities, generous office space, weekly job circle meetings for additional support, an
up-to-date job search library, and much more.
The strength and support of 40 Plus lies in its
all volunteer membership of job seeking, dedicated professionals who serve
the organization on committees and in leadership roles. Their purpose
is to advance individual job searches as well as conduct the daily
operations of 40 Plus.
40 Plus was founded in Columbus in 1982 by three area
businessmen. It is patterned
after 40 Plus of New York, founded in 1939 by Norman Vincent Peale.
Thousands of Central Ohioans have utilized the 40 Plus program to find jobs
since 1982, and are now
40 Plus alumni.
Each Monday at 9 A.M., 40 Plus features guest speakers
who present upbeat and informative job search topics to members and
visitors, after which visitors are invited to attend a 10:30 A.M.
orientation. Visitors interested in joining may speak with the

Forty Plus of Central Ohio Board Members
Jaime R. McCollum, Chair
Jaime
is a highly qualified, entrepreneurial sales coaching and training
professional with
20+
years of progressive experience in building teams, maximizing sales
revenue, and profitability, I will apply my abilities to the 40 Plus of
Central Ohio organization to continue to build
revenues for cutting edge programs and to continue to build the 40 Plus
brand to the stature it should command in the marketplace. Jaime is also a former graduate from Forty
Plus and provides excellent mentorship for current members in the program.
Mark
Gillotti, Vice Chair
Mark was elevated to Vice Chair this year (2011), via
the standard voting procedures, after serving as a trustee since 2008. He is actively enrolled in the Nonprofit
Leadership Certification Program offer at OSU Continuing Education in conjunction
with Hands on Central Ohio and will be completing that program by the end
of this year. He is an experienced
analyst, with 18 years experience specializing in providing effective
business solutions resulting in more efficient business systems. He
possesses strong analytical, problem solving, customer service, and
training skills. He sees his role
within Forty Plus as a mentor for the membership and the current executive
leadership. His focus has been on
promoting the organization in the community as a valuable resource for
professionals in transition as well as praising the value of experienced
and mature workers. By seeking out
strategic partnerships, he hopes to build strong community relationships
that will benefit both Forty Plus of Central Ohio and its partners for
years to come.
Donald
(Don) C. Kelly, Treasurer
Don is a native New Yorker who fell in love with Central Ohio. He is
a professional accountant who has worked in manufacturing, retail, banking,
and not-for-profits and his major responsibilities include general
accounting, forecasting, long range planning, strategic analysis and
corporate re-engineering. He is also a devoted family man and
community volunteer.
Bill
Morgan - Secretary
Bill Morgan
is an executive-level accounting and finance professional with 20 years of
experience in diverse industries. He has an outstanding record
of leadership and achievement in building talented teams and
implementing management and operating controls for growing
companies. Most recently, Bill was Controller for Accent Energy
Holdings LLC, a retail energy provider based in Dublin,
Ohio. In the
past, Bill has had successful roles as: Chief Financial
Officer for Atlantic Management Center, Inc., a government
contractor in Falls Church, VA; Controller for CTSI, a technology
solutions firm in Fairfax, VA; Accounting Manager at USA Today; Accounting
Manager at ValueOptions, the nation's largest
independently-owned behavioral healthcare company; and as an auditor for
six years at a regional CPA firm in Tyson's Corner, VA.
Steve Stetz, Trustee
Mr. Stetz is a Sales and Marketing Professional, with Sales Management and
Sales & Marketing Executive experience. He is a diversified
product & services specialist in end-user and alliance partner markets,
serving the following industries: software, communications, distribution
and logistics, financial services, government and manufacturing. He
has professional sales expertise growing alliance partners and creating new
sales channels. As an accomplished manager, Mr. Stetz is skilled in
building and growing successful sales teams. As Sales Manager for a
Fortune 500 company, he grew revenue and gross profit in consecutive years,
while managing $48 M in sales revenue.
Mr. Stetz is a former member of 40 Plus, and a past Board of Trustees
Chairman.
Linda O’Horo, Trustee
Linda O’Horo credits 40 Plus training and support for helping her close
the deal on her recently obtained job at Ohio Wesleyan University as
Assistant Director of Media and Community Relations. Her professional
background includes television news reporting, non-profit radio station
management, corporate communications consulting,
and working on internal corporate communications staff at Standard Oil/BP
American headquarters in Cleveland. She has an extensive background
in non-profit volunteer work and related board work – which has involved
public relations, fund raising, events planning, project management and
strategic planning. Linda currently serves on the board of trustees
at 40 Plus as Fund Raising Chairperson. A Hilliard resident, she
raised two sons alone after being widowed in 1997. Her sons, David
and Michael, now attend Miami University of Ohio.
Steve
Bennison, Trustee
Steve retired a few years ago after a career of 35 years in Human
Resources. Most of his experience has been in the manufacturing,
technical and distribution industries, starting as an HR Generalist and
retiring as VP of Administration. The position and firm he retired
from was identified through networking while an active member of 40
Plus. He currently teaches a Block III course at 40 Plus, and acts as
a mentor as well as the facilitator of the Job Circle Program.
David M. Williamson,
Trustee
Dave Williamson is a business and operations management consultant who
specializes in organizational dynamics management, strategy-focused
business planning, program and project direction, performance management
leadership, and administrative management activities. In addition, he
provides informational and specialized training on business professional
development and career planning.
Dave holds a Master’s degree in Business
Administration. Following graduation from Ohio University, he was
commissioned Second Lieutenant in the United States Air Force, serving on
active duty for 28 years and completing service with the rank of Colonel.
He specialized in military planning, training, administration and
operations.
Dave's former positions include the Superintendent of
the Division of Industrial Compliance, Department of Commerce, State of
Ohio, and Executive Director of the Ohio State Board of Cosmetology.
He also assessed, designed, and implemented customized training and
development programs for the Business and Industry Training Division of
Columbus State Community College. He is a member of Rotary
International, and is an elder of the Dublin Presbyterian Church.
Chuck Wolfe –
Trustee
Chuck is currently the executive director at Cat
Welfare Association. Chuck has a
dynamic 18-year executive management career leading medium size to
large-scale not-for–profit organizations worldwide. Expert in evaluating
organizational needs and creating proactive development, service, and
outreach programs that have consistently achieved/surpassed operating goals.
Demonstrated ability to attract enthusiastic professional volunteers,
assures fiscal accountability, and builds partnerships with government,
nonprofit, and private industry.
Chuck is also a graduate of the Forty Plus program and bring great
knowledge to the organization because of his nonprofit experience.
Rachel Conwell
- Trustee
Rachel is the Human Resources Manager/Director for
Orthopedic and Neurological Consultants (OrthoNeuro)
based in Westerville,
Ohio.
OrthoNeuro is a multi-specialty medical group
focusing and specializing in the diagnosis, treatment,
rehabilitation and prevention of musculoskeletal and neurological
disorders; including orthopedic surgery, neurosurgery, sports medicine, and
rehabilitation.
Rachel is an accomplished human resources manager with
progressive experience guiding and managing all aspects of human resource
operations. She is skilled at conducting audits, quickly assessing
opportunities for process and performance efficiencies; researching and
implementing cost-effective solutions to improve overall HR operations. She
is committed to creating sound employee programs and processes that align
with and support the company’s immediate and long-term plans.
Rachel’s passions include assisting others pursue
their career goals, job coaching, resume and cover letter writing, fundraising,
and public speaking. Rachel lives in Dublin,
Ohio with her husband Mark and Golden Retrievers, Samson and
Delilah.
Jim Bishop - Trustee
Jim Bishop is a partner with
the Bishop Ross Group at Merrill Lynch Wealth management. He also is the director and leads two
separate Gold Star Referral Clubs in Central Ohio. –Upper Arlington and
Hilliard. His financial expertise and vast network
brings considerable resources to the organization. His counsel in terms of financial
practices, fund raising options, strategic planning, and practical solutions
to issues are the strengths that have distinguished Jim throughout his
career.
